Love Italian and this place does not do it for me. 20 minute wait time actually took 50. Party of 6 got a variety of dishes, reviews were split 50/50. Did enjoy the bread and olive oil. Waitress accidentally spilled one of our glasses of sangria and brought us a new glass of ice and fruit...no sangria saying that it was almost empty anyway...really??? That's why it took 3 dinner napkins and her returning with a rag to clean up. My 3rd try at this chain and my last.

The food mostly very good. So is the service. Portions and pricing is also in line. But this is the Noisiest restaurant I've ever been in. And unfortunately that ruins for me. If I ever eat here again it will be carry out

All on point to a "T" minus, the Johnny Rocco salad greens. Just romaine no spring. Services to a "T" Kudos to Brandon!

I met the nicest waiter tonight in you establishment his name was Adam. Not only was he very helpful with the menu, he assisted us with the area, and was probably the most personable waiter I ever came across. Thank you for having the foresight when hiring him

Used to be a great restaurant, chicken Bryan and chicken piccata were my favorites. The house italian was really good. Chain wide changes to menu forces you to buy things a la carte and the portions are smaller

Service is fast, but as good as it can be in this high turnover place. We have eaten here numerous times and except for this most recent visit have never been disappointed. I had the chicken parm and my wife had one of their specialty chicken dishes. My dish didn't seem prepared completely, however my wife's was fine. The blackberry sangria is my wife's favorite, but I couldn't taste any wine in it. Seemed to be mostly juice. I asked for wine vinegar and oil for my salad and they brought me balsamic instead. When I pointed it out I was told they don't have wine vinegar, what? Anyway, overall it's a good meal at a good price.

We went there today me and my wife and son and about half way eating a delicious meal we saw a German cockroach running back and forward and after that we loose the appetite this kind of roaches rarely come out during the day I'll bet anyone if they go at night when there active you'll won't believe how infested this place is please don't go there just imagine those roaches on top of the dishes !! The manager told us that we didn't have to pay the bill but still not coming back to this place again

Ate here tonight ... food is Fabulous... Sirloin Marsala Awesome .... my biggest complaint its way to LOUD !?! It is so loud in there they sat us near the kitchen and there was so much noise and plate clanging , the racket was horrible... its hard to have a romantic dinner with your spouse when you have to shout at them and hold your ears closed at moments of the meal

I'm sorry to have to say this , but Carabbas is better than most Italian restaurants that are supposed to be authentic in the area I live in, and cheaper. Yikes! Sorry, but it's true. I always leave happy, never disappointed . Chicken Bryan with Cavatappi pasta is my favorite. Love the goat cheese, sundried tomatoes and basil on top! Yum. Good Tiramisu and Sangrias are really good here. I always add a shot of Brandy in mine ;-)

We were in Saturday evening 7/18/15. This was our first visit to this restaurant. We began with the mussels as an appetizer; looking forward to having them; however, the sauce lacked in flavor, more of a watery butter sauce, with nothing else. As an entree, I ordered the grilled chicken, the size was remarkably tiny; more like an "amuse bouche" than an entree. It was very heavily seasoned with pepper, which was, honestly too much after one bite. I politely asked the waiter if the chef would remake it with less seasoning. It was brought back with the seasoning rubbed off, same one cut (bite) that I had taken. As a former restaurant manager, this is not something that was acceptable, and I stated that it was the same piece of chicken, and that I would not eat it. The manager came to inform me that it was not the same piece of chicken, however when I showed him the cut I had taken, he offered us dessert as a condolence. We came in for dinner, not dessert, so I said, "No thank you." Needless to say, I did not have my dinner that night, nothing was taken off the bill, and paid $70 for a dinner I never had. (Yes, I did give our waiter a 20% tip, as this was not his error; he was actually very polite) Needless to say, this is not a restaurant we will be returning to, nor will it be recommended to guests or clients.

This is your run of the mill chain restaurant, but they are always slammed! Call ahead to put your name on the seating list to avoid the black Friday sale chaos. Food is adequate, and service is fair. You get what you pay for here.

Good food. Nice service. Very quiet at lunch. I've had the scallops and shrimp. The shrimp was very good but the scallops were only ok... Also, the oil thats for bread dipping, had a bad taste. :(

I ordered a sirloin marsala medium well cut and my mom ordered the sirloin skewers. Things were kinda screwy in the beginning and our plates weren't really good but Lexie our waitress noticed right away and brought the kitchen manager without even asking. They changed our plates right away and they were much better and got free dessert. So compliments to our waitress and manager for making us happy before we left. The desserts are really good maybe we'll stick for pastas there.

This has been my favorite restaurant for about 5 years. Excellent service, seating time and their food is superb. The sauce is great. The atmosphere is excellent as well! A must go.

Dinner tonight was perhaps the best I've had in ft Myers for several months. The lentil and sausage soup was excellent, chicken Marcella equally good. A restaurant you must try!

Went there for dinner on a Thursday night. We were seated at a raised table across from the bar. We waited a while for our food after ordering. I was extremely disappointed with the portion size. I ordered the large Chicken Marsala. I have been coming to the Ft. Myers area for several years and have always looked forward to dining here. But, the past couple of years I have been disappointed.

Blackberry Sangria is crazy delicious! Calamari is quite yummy. Steak/Chicken is a little pricey but also yummy.

All I can say is it's decent. I got the chicken parm it was ok. The bread with olive oil is good. My water with lemon was good. Just ok overall. Our waiter was friendly but looked like a serial killer. The entire time I was eating I just kept thinking he was going to "Dexter" me. I might go back but just for takeout.

Coming from St. Louis with some of the best Italian restaurants in the country I guess I am spoiled when it comes to that. The food was OK, I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and a salad. The bread was pretty good, the service was really what knocked the stars down. Our server was somewhat over bearing and obnoxious. Normal Italian food and bad service.

  • Jason F.

Great Food and service most of the time, we find that many of the servers have been working here for years, so is the chef, if there is ever a problem with the food there has never been a time that I would feel like they did not correct the problem. We have been coming here for years every time we are in town. Our favorite dishes are sirloin marsala and chicken bryan.

Unpleasent. Lentil and sausage soup delicious. Sirloin w marsala sauce very good, but marsala sauce nothing special. Waiter was raving about it,why, I don't know. Salad very good. Now the annoyances. Before we even finished sitting, waiter jumped on us asking what we wanted to drink. Place was freezing. Be must have been watching us eat because when we put down our forks and knives, he pounced to ask if we were done. Felt extremely rushed. Not a nice relaxing dining experience.

Carrabba's (over 200 locations in 27 states) belongs to the same Multi-Billion privately-owned corporation that also owns "Outback," "Bonefish Grill," "Roy's," "Fleming's," and "Cheeseburger in Paradise." That said, some fellow reviewers claim there are many better local Italian Restaurants, but I haven't found any. The main problem with smaller, family-owned restaurants, is their inconsistency, and lack of tenure, for the most part. I have never had a bad or even, mediocre meal, here, and consider it a cut above "Olive Garden" (another Italian-cuisine chain), and prices are a little higher than O.G., just a short distance north on Hwy. 41. That said, they have a somewhat limited menu, but they have to focus on what customers want and they do this very well. During my past visits, have usually had the "Sirloin Marsala" or the "Pollo Rosa Maria" but decided on splurging today. For starters, I had the Lentil Soup with Sausage, and it was TASTY with a little "kick" to it. Then I had the Filet Fiorentino, with Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli. Although I had ordered the Filet Mignon Medium-Rare, it was served more on the Rare side. As it was during HAPPY HOURS, I had two draft beers (Moretti) for the price of one! If you come here during a weekend, come early, unless you want to wait a while! They open for lunch ONLY on Sundays. If you're looking for an elegant, quiet place, with real gourmet, traditional Italian cusine, go elsewhere. But if you're looking for a good meal, even if from a large chain restaurant, you'll certainly enjoy Carrabba's!

This Carrabba's is a newer of two locations here in Fort Myers. **Big** fan of this chain establishment so when I found out that this particular location now serves lunch daily all week long from 11:30 am, had to stop in for a quick bite for lunch. Tried the Grilled Fish Ciabatta with tomato basil vineagrette served open face on a bed of arugula with homemade chips. Fish (tilapia) was moist, flaky and quite flavorful. The homemade chips were crisp and perfectly golden with just a hint of salt. Overall a very tasty dish. Great service and always consistent great food. Outside seating is available too, for those who prefer to dine al fresco in the balmy Florida air.

GREAT staff. After leaving one restaurant due to not being served for 40 minutes, my girlfriend and I dropped in here on a whim. Not only did they give me a free beer on the house after my girlfriend ordered one, but as thanks for driving 40 minutes for dinner, dessert was free. Great food. Great staff. How can you go wrong?

We beat the Greybird happy hour crowd arriving @430 on a Friday. Greeted & seated right away. Our server Jamee was great answering all of our questions with a smile. The hot bread with the very good EVOO & spice was excellent as we waited for our salads. My salad with the house creamy parm dressing was excellent, wife had the Cesar and loved it. I had to also try the lentil soup with sausage as I make that at home myself. It was excellent, the best I have eaten. She had the sirloin Marsala Bryan Ravioli. She loved both and I did also as I ate what she brought home. My Spiedino Di Mare was excellent, the pasta had a crushed tomato sauce on it that I loved. The scallops & shrimp were wood grilled with a great white sauce. She asked Jamee which desert she liked best and she brought us the brownie with chocolate that was outstanding. The service, food and ambiance were great, maybe Darden/Walmart can take a page from this great restaurant company as Blommin Brands are getting it right as last week our trip to Outback across the street was also very good.

We had a great meal here. Decent sized portions; we left stuffed! Friday night dinner. The place was busy but not too bad a wait (priority seating) but it was still early. Great olive oil and bread to start with. The bread was piping hot; right out of the oven. Blackberry Sangria was very good. Decent salads; nothing special but were OK. Entrees were excellent. We had the mahi-mahi special; was moist, flakey. Garlic mashed potatoes were buttery and delicious. Pork chops wrapped in prosciutto were juicy and tender. Seafood cannelloni was very rich and creamy, served piping hot. Seriously this was so hot I couldn't eat it for a few minutes and then it was steaming hot for the rest of the meal. Excellent and very rich. We had the bread pudding for dessert. A nice ending. Good service; the waiter was attentive, we didn't have to wait long for anything. A really great meal. This place is highly recommended.

I'm not that happy with the ft myers location as far as food quality and quantity. The portion of veal was small. I ordered the large portion of veal Marsiella and received 3 very small pieces. There was no Marsiella flavor but instead it tasted like a mushroom sauce. I will say that the manager did take the meal back, but by the time someone actually came over to do this my friend had already finished their meal, so I opted to pass on the food.

Nowhere near as good as it was years ago. Portions are smaller, prices are higher, and the menu has lost some of the best items. It's like they went out of their way to ruin a good thing. It has gone from an outstanding place to mediocre, and the prices don't justify mediocrity.

The better italian kitchen, although it's a chain. Affordable, almost autentic Italian food, a little Amercanised... but "me like!"

Disgusting and absolutely awful. The mussels appetizer stank like a sewer, had to send them back. Another customer at the next table had the same issue. The next batch was edible in that it didn't stink like something died, but the flavor wasn't good by any means. The lobster mac and cheese was a runny, soupy, undercooked mess, also inedible. The service was fine and the staff offered to replace the dish after they removed it from the tab, but at that point, I was so disgusted with the poor (even perhaps dangerous) quality of the food, I had to leave. Worst dining experience in a long, long time.

I am a *huge* Carrabba's fan... Everything on the menu has KICK. I don't mean spicy-- I mean it has great flavor. Go crazy with the tasty bread, olive oil, and herb mix. For a salad, choose the house with Creamy Parmesan. And for the entree, I recommend the Chicken Marsala. My wife always gets the Chicken Gratella. This is the busiest location I've ever seen, but it's the only one in Fort Myers! So if you want some Texas styled Italian food, you better be prepared to wait or arrive after 8pm. Forget Saturday nights, you'll be waiting a while.

Ok so I can't believe it I am now writing about chain restaurants (Oh Chicago how I miss you) but I have to say Carabba's is pretty darn yummy. A little more on the pricey side but not too bad. Try the pasta Weezy yum yum yum.

One of my favorites along with the store in the Gulf Coast Town Center. Great service and very good "Italian" food. I'm happy they began serving lunch on Sundays. Do not know why they have less business then than a competitor chain up the street.

I doubt any Carrabba's would disappoint... but we really did enjoy our visit here. The service wasn't outstanding (our server looked pretty overwhelmed) but the food was amazing, the drinks (happy hour specials) were great (even if a little weak... but hey, they're bogo!), and the servers did sing and provide free dessert to one of our guests. They have outside seating which is SO wonderful when you're visiting warm Florida from cold PA in the winter!

When all of the local restaurants get run out of town and I'm forced to start picking amonst the chains, Carraba's will be in my top 5. They do a much better job on serving more creative fare than most of their competition, but there are literally dozens of better local Italian rstaurants around.

I LOVE this place. My favorite is Rigatoni Martino with sausage, and even though its not on the menu, they still make it for me everytime I go. The bartenders rock (especially James) and I always try to go here when I have a free night and I want to have a good time.

Good food, consistantly great service, yes some local places in the SW Lee county area have better food - example - Two meatballs in the Kitchen - but the service, the bar - good drinks, fair wine selection, the food - Pollo Rosa Maria, special Tuna Wolfe, makes this place and all round winner.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
